Research Diary is a very early-stage visual novel built around a body-transformation premise — the protagonist undergoes a treatment that produces some unexpected physical changes, and a parallel subplot hints at a female character's own transformation. Reviewers note the game has an interesting hook and attractive character art, but at roughly ten minutes of content for v0.1 there is simply not enough here yet to judge it fairly as a creative work. Audience questions center on the nature and balance of futa content, optional routes, and whether sissy content will appear — players seem divided on what they want from this game, which at least signals genuine interest in where the story goes. On the technical side, a recurring Android issue — being unable to close in-game phone apps and getting stuck — was flagged by multiple players; the developer acknowledged it and promised UI fixes in a future update. The update itself is reported to be about 60% done but delayed by the developer's health issues. Given the very limited content and the unresolved Android soft-lock, this is firmly a mid-development build.
