Editorial Has potential
Rain After Her is a slow-burn narrative VN with strong renders and genuine character work—the community praises its visual quality, expressive character animations, and grounded, humanized storytelling that eschews immediate gratification. The demo shows promise, and players who favor deliberate pacing and emotional depth over rapid sexual content see real potential here. However, the game is currently on indefinite hiatus. The developer has publicly acknowledged that the opening—featuring a depressed, charisma-light protagonist—creates resistance rather than curiosity, and plans a substantial rework (30–40 scenes rewritten, dialogue polished, new renders added) before resuming. Render times on current hardware are slow, and no release date is promised. Respect goes to the dev for honesty and self-awareness, but prospective players should understand this is a work in deep reconstruction, not an active project. If you value story-first AVNs and can wait, the foundation is solid; if you want to play now, this is not ready.
