Pubpet is a visual novel with solid art and voice acting that struggles with identity and follow-through. The core gameplay loop—progressing through routes, managing stats, and unlocking scenes—works, but players consistently report a disconnect between what the game promises (NTR content, penalty CGs, branching choices with consequences) and what it actually delivers. The writing suffers from heavy machine translation and inconsistent characterization; backstories shift between scenes, and scene art often contradicts the text. Most frustratingly, the game appears to have been abandoned mid-development, with the studio moving on to other projects. For players drawn to the aesthetic and willing to overlook the narrative mess, there's entertainment value; for those expecting the advertised depth and content variety, it's a disappointment.
