Editorial Has potential
Primal is an early-access text-based sci-fi survival erotica — a bi/gay-friendly interactive fiction where a crash-landed protagonist is captured by a member of an alien (but very humanoid) species. The premise earns genuine enthusiasm: players love the genre blend of survival action, alien romance, and wordless communication as a core mechanic, and the writing style draws consistent praise for its craft and tone. Art direction, music, and character creation are noted positively, though the single looping track and limited character description beyond physical traits are mild criticisms. One consistent caveat worth knowing: the alien love interest reads as more human than alien, which may or may not suit your taste. The principal complaint — repeated loudly across the review thread — is that the current build is extremely short, barely a demo by most accounts, with many players hitting the end in three clicks and left wanting far more. A hair-selection glitch stops some players in their tracks, and mobile formatting was reportedly broken at one point (the developer acknowledged and addressed it). The developer is actively working on the project as a side endeavour alongside another title, so further content is uncertain in timeline. If you can accept a very brief taste of something promising, this is worth sampling — but manage expectations accordingly.
