Perishing Beasts

A classic JRPG set in a dark fantasy world overrun by monsters and miasma. You play as a skilled Hunter, tasked by a military organization to eliminate monsters infesting remote regions and protect the populace. Gameplay centers on collecting "monster blood" from defeated enemies to raise your stats, purchasing equipment, and engaging in random encounters. Defeat means dropping all your collected blood, though you can recover it by returning to the battle site—unless you lose again first. The story unfolds through interactions with diverse NPCs: holy priests and priestesses who support your abilities, child followers who assist you, a battle-worn commander, and mysterious figures with unclear motives. The game features roughly 3+ hours of playtime with New Game+ functionality, allowing stat inheritance for subsequent playthroughs against harder enemies. The world is rendered in a blend of 3D and 2D pixel art, creating an immersive dark atmosphere.
