Parallel Desires is a visually striking game with polished art direction, distinct character designs, and decent writing that lands for its audience of futa-content enthusiasts. The developer actively engages with the community and has clearly thought through player choice—offering top/bottom mode selection and planning further customization. However, the current public build (from 2024) is significantly broken: players report soft-locks, dialogue that fails to trigger even after reloading multiple times, sex scenes freezing on black screens, and save-corruption bugs that make progression impossible. The developer acknowledges these issues and claims a full engine rebuild is underway, but with no dev log for over a year and missed update windows (promised late March/early April, now mid-May with no news), the gap between Patreon activity and public availability has eroded trust. The game itself—its writing, art, character work—deserves respect; the build does not.
