Orphan is a text-based Dark Fantasy CYOA set in a dying neo-Roman civilization ruled by sorcery and oppression. You play as a nobody in the Cradle, a crumbling city-state buried in an ancient crater where rampant slavery, corruption, and magic dominate life. The story unfolds through branching choices as you navigate a world of violence, intrigue, and political struggle between ruined nobles competing for power. Core gameplay involves character creation, exploration of locations like the gladiator ludus and the mysterious Night's Watch, dynamic combat encounters, and relationships with various characters—including noblewomen, courtesans, and other inhabitants of this harsh world. The narrative is responsive to your decisions, offering multiple branching paths and alternative endings shaped by your choices and character build.
