Editorial Has potential
One Twisted Fantasy has a compelling premise, engaging card-combat system, and players appreciate the character writing and story promise. However, the game suffers from significant technical issues: relation-point bugs (Cecily's points going to Lily), crashes when spending energy at the tavern, save corruption, and combat lock-ups that make progression unreliable. The lack of rollback—even limited to non-combat text—frustrates players who miss story details due to accidental clicks, and the dev's dismissal of this as "trivial to code" feels tone-deaf. Beyond bugs, the card-shop economy is severely exploitable (free/cheap cards early game), and mechanical design quirks (deck-size requirements, single-wave floors, grinding gates) create friction. The UI also has issues: redundant dialogue tags, confusing tavern mechanics, and visual glitches. Art-wise, characters are well-rendered but suffer from a limited base face model. The core creative work—story, writing, character differentiation—is solid, but the current build is fragile enough that many players cannot reliably finish it.
