Editorial Has potential
Odd Inn Onsen is a character-driven management sim with three well-realized heroines whose personalities genuinely differ, and a core loop of intimate interactions that players find engaging. The creative work lands—players consistently praise the characters and enjoy the experience. However, the game is explicitly in early development and currently inactive; the developer has stated it is not being updated and would need a ground-up remake to meet their current standards. What exists is playable and charming, with solid writing and likable cast dynamics, but the onsen management layer feels underdeveloped (vending machine income, absent guests, little use for spy cameras), and some systems lack depth (sleeping scenes don't evolve with intimacy, repeated dialogue wears thin, "corruption" stat feels misnamed). For players willing to engage with an unpolished prototype that captures the appeal of early Harem Hotel, there is genuine fun here—but only if you accept that it is a stepping stone, not a finished work.
