Editorial Worth it
No One But You is a choice-driven visual novel about an amnesiac protagonist reconnecting with childhood friends, each with dark secrets. The community is sharply divided: many praise its character writing, emotional impact, and standout routes (particularly Chinatsu's, penned by respected EVN author ebi-hime), while others find the pacing rushed, some routes poorly executed, and the overall scope too ambitious for its length. The art is consistently noted as a strength; the soundtrack solid but forgettable. A critical consensus emerges around two specific character routes—Shiro's and Megumi's—which reviewers describe as poorly plotted, tonally inconsistent, and emotionally unearned, marring an otherwise competent VN. The game suffered from broken Kickstarter promises (voice acting was cut due to developer disputes), leading some to view it as an incomplete product. For those who connect with its darker, character-focused storytelling, it rewards a full playthrough; for others, it's a competent but uneven experience undermined by ambitious writing that doesn't always land. The delisting and relisting under a new publisher has left some confusion, but the current Steam version is functionally identical to the original.
