Never Trust Reality is a branching narrative VN with meaningful route divergence that rewards close attention to dialogue choices—players report genuine surprise when subtle early decisions cascade into dramatically different character arcs. The community is engaged with the writing, debating intent and mechanics across routes. However, the build shows signs of rough development. A recent critical hard-drive failure has disrupted the dev's workflow (acknowledged in a public Patreon post), and players report obtuse trigger conditions for certain scenes—one pivotal character moment requires a counterintuitive "don't message" choice, and even then remains locked behind unclear path dependencies, leaving some unable to access content despite following guides. The game is playable and has reached v0.9, but incomplete scene triggers, missing skip functionality, and a scattered user base unable to reliably unlock late-game content suggest the build is still mid-polish.
