Editorial Meh
My Holiness the Gobliness is a short, idle-game-meets-visual-novel hybrid centered on unlocking H-scenes by passively earning currency and purchasing furniture. The goblin character Anu is widely praised for her design, voice acting (in Chinese), and the quality of the animations themselves—and for many players, that's enough. However, the game's core loop is a significant point of contention: most reviewers describe it as tedious, repetitive waiting with minimal interactivity. You watch the same sprite walk back and forth, click occasionally to perform the same actions, and wait for timers to tick down, all to unlock slight variations on similar scenes. The game is also very short (4 hours to completion, achievable in 2–3 if you know the optimal path), leaving little to do after the initial unlock rush. Opinion splits sharply: some find the character and animations charming enough to justify the price on sale; others see a padded, boring time-sink that mistakes passive watching for gameplay. The story and writing receive occasional praise for emotional resonance, but are brief and optional-feeling next to the core grind.
