My Dorm – Season 1 is a harem-focused adult visual novel set in a student dormitory, and community opinion splits fairly evenly along predictable lines. Supporters point to a likeable, varied cast whose charm carries the experience past a slow opening (roughly three to four hours of setup), a surprisingly generous runtime of 20–35 hours, a decent soundtrack, and a clone-based pseudo-family premise that delivers on its core fantasy for those inclined toward that content. Critics are harder to ignore: the renders and animations are widely described as dated and stiff, dialogue is overly verbose with limited meaningful choices, the translation—acknowledged by the developer as AI-assisted—produces persistent gender-pronoun errors that disrupt immersion, and the pregnancy system is flagged by at least one reviewer as hollow despite being promoted as a feature. Whether a character type (older women up to and including an apparent GILF, or a small cast of LGBT characters) is an asset or a liability is purely a matter of taste and should be weighed accordingly. On the build side, Season 1 is a finished release with no reported crashes or install failures. The technical complaints—choppy animation loops, an inconsistent translation, occasional skin-tone continuity issues with the MC—are genuine production limitations rather than broken-build problems.
