Editorial Don't bother
My Childhood Friend is currently in development limbo. The project went on hold months ago when the lead developer (Rea Rea) stepped away due to personal circumstances, and the co-creator—who handles artwork—is away from their PC for extended periods due to work. Download links have expired and are no longer functional, making the available version (0.1) inaccessible to new players. Community feedback on what exists is divided: some praise the unique art style and express genuine interest in future updates, while others criticize the low-effort presentation, minimal story content, poor English writing, and sparse animations. The core complaint is not technical bugs but a lack of polish and narrative substance—the game reads as a proof-of-concept rather than a finished experience. Until the developers return and re-establish a distribution channel, this remains unplayable.
