Editorial Worth it
Lost Solace is a stylish assassin thriller with top-tier character writing and visuals that has earned genuine fan devotion. The renders are exceptional, the dialogue lands, and love interests like Theresa, Dora, and Mio have sparked invested debate about character motivation and development—a sign the game is doing something right. The MC is sympathetic despite the well-worn edgy-assassin premise, and the story hooks players immediately. Community opinion on individual characters diverges (some find Theresa's recklessness unforgivable, others see compelling growth potential; Dora's shadiness intrigues some and alienates others), but that's taste, not craft. The main creative tension is pacing: 400 renders over seven months has disappointed players expecting fuller content, and intimacy scenes remain sparse for a game this far in. That said, dialogue and character work are consistently praised, and the dev communicates openly about intentional design choices (Lena's non-branching path, for instance). For an early-access title, this is a strong foundation with momentum.
