Editorial Has potential
Kindred is a character-driven narrative game with strong writing and visually polished renders that has earned genuine appreciation from players who've completed it. The dialogue feels natural and character personalities are well-defined, though some note a ChatGPT-like cadence. Sexual content remains light relative to audience expectations. The current build is rough and frustrating to navigate. The UI is confusing (players report unclear button functions and a learning curve just to start), the fast-forward feature creates visual artifacts, text-rolling causes friction for some, and several hard-locking bugs exist—including one that can lock players out entirely if they click too fast during setup. Android and Mac versions have reported separate issues. The game is playable for patient players willing to work around these friction points, but the technical state significantly undermines what is otherwise promising creative work.
