Editorial Don't bother
K-Pop Star is a very short adult visual novel — reviewers consistently clock it at under ten minutes — with no branching choices, a handful of odd minigames, and a surreal plot in which a failed K-pop idol ends up in a degrading reality-show scenario involving hobos and a clown. The creative concept is at least unusual, and a few players single out the psychedelic dream-sequence animations as genuinely novel for the genre, but the overwhelming consensus is that the premise is barely developed, the writing is thin, the art is below average, and the price is wildly out of proportion to what is delivered. Almost no reviewer recommends the game even at heavy discounts, and the sole notable positive — the 100% achievement unlock being automatic and instant — says more about the content's brevity than its quality. The game is technically functional and fully released, so the build itself is not the problem; the problem is a creative work that feels like an unfinished proof-of-concept rather than a complete experience.
