Editorial Has potential
JOI VR is an early-access VR adult game built around interactive control mechanics—sliders for tempo and amplitude in a rhythm-based experience. The concept has a dedicated audience, and players appreciate the dev's active engagement with feedback and willingness to iterate. However, the game is clearly unfinished: performance issues plague even mid-range rigs (reports of severe lag on RTX 2070), controller detection fails on some headsets (Meta Quest 2), and core features like customizable character models and Handy device support are promised but not yet delivered. The female character model draws consistent criticism for poor facial aesthetics. Community consensus is cautiously optimistic—players see potential in the direction and respect the developer's responsiveness—but the current build is too rough to play reliably, and the core creative vision (softcore JOI gameplay) is niche enough that it won't appeal beyond a specific audience.
