Editorial Has potential
Hunter: Space Pirates is a linear sci-fi visual novel from the studio behind Motherless, and most reviewers approach it through that lens. The creative fundamentals — 3D art, animations (with a praised split-screen technique), audio design, and an engaging if still-unfolding space opera story — draw consistent praise, and fans of the developer's earlier work generally find it on par. The main creative gripes are mild: the protagonist's appearance divides some, certain character designs feel over-exaggerated, the English dialogue can feel stilted, and a few lines of untranslated Italian slip through. Content-wise, scenes are considered sparse in the free chapter but improve in quality across the paid DLC chapters. The game is chapter-based with new content released roughly a year apart, so impatient players should note the overall experience is still in progress. On the technical side, a meaningful number of reviews report crashes and at least one reproducible script error in Chapter 2 that leaves players stuck, and one review describes what sounds like abandonment. These are real enough to note, though the majority of reviewers complete the available content without incident. A completed build this is not — it is an ongoing episodic release — so expect a work in progress.
