Hotel of the Damned Desires shows promising potential for players drawn to light BDSM and femdom themes, with community interest in the creative direction and character work. However, the current build is marred by significant technical problems: Act 14 contains numerous typos ("P" instead of "p", "dissove" instead of "dissolve"), missing images through act 14_24 onward, and widespread reports that animations do not play despite being listed in the changelog—players see only still images where motion should occur. The early game also frustrates with excessive relationship-choice prompts before characters are introduced. These are fixable issues, but they currently impede the experience enough that the build needs attention before a wider audience should engage with it.
