Editorial Has potential
Hentai Mayhem is a roguelike action game with procedural skill selection and NPC progression mechanics that players find engaging when it works. The creative concept — balancing combat runs with persistent character relationships — lands well for its audience, and the variety in playstyle through different skill picks keeps runs fresh. However, the build is substantially broken. A critical boss-defeat bug causes enemies to slide off the map after death, denying victory and resetting all NPC progress, forcing players to restart from zero. Animation playback fails on some systems (images appear but gifs don't trigger), raised platforms have collision issues where enemies bypass geometry, and save-file corruption is reported. The community response is split between those frustrated by these blockers and those willing to grind through them for the core loop; the game is playable in stretches but unreliable enough that many abandon it mid-session. Futa content is toggleable via character selection, mitigating concern there.
