Editorial Has potential
Harvesting Corruption is a early-stage sandbox adult VN with strong technical ambition: the developer is aggressively pushing AI-enhanced video animations (60fps upscaling, frame interpolation) to bring static renders to life, and players consistently praise the visual and animation quality. The writing and character work are solid enough to hold player interest through a branching farmland narrative. However, the game shows rough edges typical of active development. Save-loading is currently broken for saves past the end-of-content marker. Quest design frustrates players: journal entries lack precise time-of-day guidance, leading to repeated NPC visits that tank affinity; the promised map upgrade with NPC markers and quest indicators isn't live yet. Repetitive mandatory animations (bathing, dressing) wear thin despite the developer's intention to add skip options. Minor but persistent AI enhancement artifacts appear—character faces shift subtly between renders, clothing patterns change—enough to break immersion for attentive players. The developer is responsive and transparent about technical trade-offs (cost, time per image), and large-scale upgrades are in active progress. For players tolerant of mid-development roughness and interested in the render-to-video animation pipeline, the foundation is promising; for those wanting a stable, polished experience, waiting for a more mature build is wise.
