Editorial Worth it
Girl I'm Rotting is a short, darkly funny queer horror VN about Beth, a person whose body is literally rotting, navigating a toxic online relationship and an unsettling connection with a mysterious nurse. The game's real strength lies in its writing: the toxic girlfriend feels painfully authentic (plural system representation included), the body horror is laced with absurdist, Kafkaesque humor, and the nurse's arc weaves metaphor and genuine dread together masterfully. Players consistently praised the prose, backgrounds, and soundtrack, and the built-in character quiz is a delight. This is intimate, specific horror—the kind where uncomfortable conversations and real emotional neglect sting harder than the decay. Niche work, but for its audience, genuinely excellent.
