Editorial Has potential
Ghost Override launches with a promising foundation but stumbles on execution. The renders are visually appealing, and players consistently praise the mysterious character Sherry and the narrative direction—one early supporter saw enough to back the project despite the early version number. However, the game is hampered by poor UX design: the free-roam money-gating system feels punitive and creates anxiety about future choices, and navigation between areas is confusing and tedious. The sex scenes themselves land reasonably well thematically (Jenny's scene in particular resonates), but relationship development feels shallow for most love interests, who come across as "fuck buddies" rather than compelling romantic arcs. Community feedback is split: some embrace the roughness of an early build and see real potential; others are frustrated by design choices that feel at odds with the narrative tone they're enjoying. The current build is unstable for a non-trivial portion of Windows users—multiple reports of launch failures and persistent background processes, though the developer's testing suggests the issue may be platform-specific or download-source-related. Image quality is grainy in places. With 6–12 months estimated to the next update, this is clearly mid-development; players are asked to trust the vision while tolerating rough edges.
