Editorial Meh
Galactic Space Love is a sci-fi adult sandbox that wears its Starbound inspiration so openly that the community's loudest conversation is whether key assets were outright copied — ship designs, the matter manipulator, particle effects, and core mechanics are all called out by name. Setting the plagiarism controversy aside, the creative execution earns mixed marks: the artwork is widely praised, but the actual game loop is poorly explained, the depression and affection mechanics are reportedly broken, NPC content is essentially absent, and the overall package feels far from finished. The dev's platforms (Patreon, itch.io, X) have since gone dark, which raises real questions about the game's future. As a build, this one is rough. Mechanics get stuck between saves, deliveries and furniture can glitch out, the cursor is missing on Linux, and the tutorial leaves new players completely at sea. The developer appears to have rebranded and is no longer actively supporting this project, so the combination of a broken mechanics layer and an absent dev makes it hard to recommend even to fans of the genre.
