Editorial Meh
Fault - Broken Promises is a time-management RPG centered on debt repayment and NTR themes, built on a simple but functional mechanical foundation. The game succeeds visually—character art, character designs (especially Yuni and Aiel), and static CGs are well-executed, and voice acting adds genuine atmosphere. The core NTR narrative premise is solid: a protagonist forced to watch his companion degrade over 25 days, with relationship corruption tracked transparently in the menu. However, the work suffers from significant shortcomings that undermine both craft and execution. The gameplay loop is repetitive and tedious—dungeon crawling relies on enemy-dodging and RNG, the story branching is inflexible (a single deadline gate at day 10 splits all outcomes), and narrative pacing is rushed, especially for the sister's corruption arc, which unfolds in just two scenes. The "good" ending itself is underwhelming and doesn't resolve the NTR premise; even at day 10, the protagonist has already lost control. Most critically, reviewers report the game feels incomplete: large empty academy maps, missing quest content, a harem-end scene that crashes in the gallery, and translation quality described as weak even by Saikey's standards. For NTR enthusiasts willing to tolerate repetitive mechanics, the art and corruption tracking may justify a purchase; for others, the tedium and unfinished state will frustrate.
