Editorial Has potential
Dragon Soul Maidens is a medieval-fantasy dragon-breeding game with character romance, built on a genuinely solid mechanical framework that players find promising—but the project appears abandoned, and the current build is functionally broken. The core appeal is clear: a dragon-raising sim paired with maiden romance, set in a power-building campaign. Reviewers consistently praise the 3D character models (far above typical for the genre) and appreciate the shift away from RNG-heavy loops toward base-building strategy. The concept—especially the recurring player interest in "dragon-form" intimate scenes—has real niche appeal. However, the game is severely hampered by two problems: first, the developer has been inactive since January with no Patreon updates, suggesting the project is stalled or abandoned; second, the build itself suffers from widespread technical failures—a toArray() error crashes the game on launch for many players, maiden rendering glitches (disappearing or rendering behind backgrounds), broken restart/save-state mechanics, and missing or greyed-out features that leave players guessing at mechanics. Reviewers who could play past the crashes found the early loop repetitive and desperately in need of tutorial guidance and clearer feedback (combat rules, stat meanings, ability descriptions are all opaque). This has genuine potential, but it is too raw and too inactive to recommend in its current state.
