Editorial Has potential
City of Broken Dreams presents a femdom superhero game with solid character work and story progression that players appreciate, but its current build is hamstrung by recurring technical problems and a frustratingly punishing difficulty curve. The core complaint is mechanical: quick-time event sequences (button-mashing challenges, timed arrow presses) are described as nearly impossible by multiple players, with some reporting the timing windows are genuinely unbeatable without luck or extreme reflexes. Beyond that, animation locks—particularly during Calisto's 69 scene, which freezes entirely—and narrative progression bugs (Laura conversations triggering black screens, quest markers not clearing, freezes during specific character interactions) appear often enough to disrupt play. The grinding and RNG combat system has fans who enjoy the challenge, but accessibility and fairness complaints suggest the balance needs tuning. On creative merit, the game earns genuine enthusiasm: players call it "amazing" and "best game ever", and story pacing, character variation, and world-building keep them invested despite the friction. The primary barriers are technical stability and a punishing skill floor that locks out content for players without reflexes or patience for reload-grinding.
