Editorial Meh
Cinnamon Buns is a futa-focused visual novel with strong rendering and animation work—the developer's artistic growth is evident and genuinely impressive. However, the game is fundamentally a kinetic novel (no meaningful choices) with multiple protagonists, which frustrates players expecting interactive narrative depth; compounding this, some of the visuals use AI upscaling (inadequately tagged), and the writing is verbose, dragging out simple scenes. Opinion divides sharply: some enjoy the rendered aesthetic and premise enough to return for gallery browsing; others find the lack of interactivity and POV-switching immersion-breaking, especially given the genre's expectations. The game is actively developed and playable, but it remains a lean prologue—the dev has promised actual gameplay and choices in future episodes, which will be the real test of whether there's a game here or just a visual experience.
