Chronicles of Forgotten Tears blends narrative-driven fantasy with deckbuilding combat and romance systems—ambitions that mostly land despite rough execution. The writing and character work genuinely impress players; branching dialogue, meaningful relationships, and a card-battle system that rewards strategic thinking distinguish it from the visual-novel pack. Animations and static CG content are uneven, lacking a gallery mode, and the game notably omits Chinese and Russian translations despite an international audience. The fatal issue, however, is abandonment: the developer has been radio-silent for an extended period, leaving the game in early access limbo with no updates, patches, or word on completion. Players consistently praise what exists but cannot recommend investing in an unfinished project that will almost certainly never continue.
