Carnal Contract is a completed adult visual novel with an intriguing premise—a protagonist trapped in an escalating "dare game" for money—but it struggles to live up to its setup. The core creative flaw is narrative inconsistency: plot holes (contradictions in the game's own rules), weak characterization, an unearned plot twist about the protagonist's father, and a rushed, tonally absurd ending that collapses into an orgy sequence. The protagonist's behaviour becomes increasingly inconsistent and illogical; other characters lack depth beyond their sexual availability; and the story's antagonist has paper-thin motivations. Visually, the character models and renders are appealing, but animations are stiff and limited, and the art direction is serviceable rather than compelling.
