Editorial Meh
Borg Origin presents a narrative-heavy adult game with polished writing full of literary and film references, but the execution stumbles significantly. Players praise the craft of individual scenes and character moments—particularly Valencia—yet consistently criticize the bloated, overly ornate dialogue that drowns out pacing and becomes exhausting to read. The protagonist's extended brainwashing arc and Sky's artificial characterization frustrate players seeking more dynamic storytelling. More troubling is the widespread perception that the game relies heavily on AI-generated content (script, music, animations, splash screens) while the developer's denial of this in the notes erodes trust. The title's Star Trek reference sets false expectations; there is no Borg science-fiction premise here, only an NTR scenario unfolding in a single evening. The build is playable but rough, with Android button-text display issues and an incomplete feature set (v0.1). For its niche audience, the writing shows promise, but the narrative direction feels unfocused and the AI-generation controversy casts a shadow over the project's credibility.
