Beltane is a text-based adult game adapting *Motherland: Fort Salem*, a niche military-fantasy show about witches. Community interest is real but divided: some players appreciate the source material and are curious about the game's direction, while others see a missed opportunity—the show's canon is heavily queer and female-dominated, but this game centers a male protagonist pursuing female characters, including canonically lesbian ones. That creative choice isn't inherently a flaw, but it's worth knowing upfront. The current build is in rough shape: installation requires a developer-provided password that doesn't work, images fail to load on mobile browsers, and basic technical issues block play. Until those are fixed, the game remains effectively unplayable for most.
