Editorial Has potential
Amnesia is a visual novel with sandbox elements about a protagonist waking from memory loss and rebuilding relationships with three women—a landlady/stepmother and two step-sisters. Community opinion is sharply divided. Strengths widely praised: polished graphics and character art (especially recent updates), solid writing and translation quality, engaging character-driven narrative with meaningful choices, and steady developer commitment over years. The game rewards patience; players who engage with its slow-burn storytelling report 8–9 hours of compelling content. Weaknesses: it remains in early access after four years with story progression still incomplete, art consistency issues (some scenes shift between photorealistic renders and lower-quality assets), and some players frustrated by slow update pace or by specific sexual content (BDSM scenes) they wish to skip. One consistent complaint: no clear end in sight despite substantial playtime. Buyers who purchased on sale and expect ongoing updates are satisfied; those burned by the developer's previous abandoned project (Lucky Mark) express justified skepticism about long-term completion.
