Above the Immortality Realm

Editorial Meh

Above the Immortality Realm is a visual novel–style adult game built on cultivation-novel mechanics, where you play as a character who steals the providence (fate and bloodline power) of a rival cultivator, thereby inheriting his destined harem. Community reception is split: players who love xianxia themes praise the art and animations (compared favorably to Zenless Zone Zero) and appreciate the ambitious premise, while others criticize the limited interactivity—it's essentially a clickable comic with live2d rather than a game with meaningful choices or combat. The writing has plot holes (reviewers note inconsistencies in how the protagonist gains access to certain powers and characters), and the protagonist's actions veer into morally ugly territory without much friction from the narrative. The game has received recent updates adding chapters and content, though development remains ongoing. If you're after xianxia flavor in adult fiction and can tolerate a linear, image-heavy experience, it delivers on that niche; if you want gameplay depth or a morally sympathetic lead, look elsewhere.
